Use chatbot parameters for leads
Have the chatbot ask a customer's name, budget or course, save each answer to their record, and turn the conversation into a CRM lead — then reuse those answers as {{1}}, {{2}} in later messages.
- 1
Create the fields you want to collect
Chatbot Flow Builder → Custom Fields → add a field for each thing you'll ask (e.g. Budget, Course, Preferred city). Name, phone and email already exist.
- 2
Ask the question in a workflow
Open your workflow and add an Ask a question step. Write the question, choose the answer type (text, number, email, date, options) and under Save answer to, pick the field. The bot checks the answer and asks again if it doesn't fit.
- 3
Create the lead
Add a Create lead step after the questions. Map Name to {{customer.name}}, Phone to {{customer.phone}}, and the rest to the answers you saved. If the customer is already a lead, it's updated instead of duplicated.
- 4
Use the answers in replies
Any later Send text step can use the saved answers: {{input.<question key>}} for an answer in this flow, {{custom.<field key>}} for a saved custom field. “Thanks {{customer.name}}, here are 2BHK options under your {{custom.budget}} budget.”
- 5
Use them in broadcasts too
When you send a template campaign, each {{1}}, {{2}} can be filled from a custom field — so a campaign can quote every customer's own course or city.
Good to know
- Use Add tag in the same flow (e.g. “hot-lead”) to make these contacts easy to segment later.
- Click Test in the builder for a dry run — it shows each step as it would happen, without sending anything or creating real leads — before you Publish.
